About Us

Our rescue started many years before Feathers & Fangs was founded and created on paper. As a family and as individuals, we all felt the calling to help animals in need. What started with taking in homeless or abandoned dogs and cats eventually transformed into providing shelter for exotic animals. The rescue itself is located at our family residence. Even though we do love dogs and cats, unfortunately, we do not have adequate room or kennels for taking them in as rescues on a regular basis. We have had to purchase an additional portable building for housing some of the small mammals and birds. Running a nonprofit is definitely a passion project. All expenses not covered by donations are completely funded out of pocket by the board of directors. We willingly donate our time, energy, and money to help those without a voice, the misunderstood, and the abandoned. There was never a question of should we do this. We have always been doing it. We just needed to take the time to find a way to expand our efforts, to further our support in the community, and make our labor of love known in the world.  As of October 2023, Feathers & Fangs is an official 501c3 nonprofit.
